For regions that dive with surface-supplied equipment (OLV): train the controlled switch to bailout air and safely disconnecting the air line. A skills training that supports the open-water emergency procedure — secured and under direct supervision.

Recognising when disconnecting or switching to bailout air is required
Switching to the bailout/SCUBA system in a controlled manner
Securing the air supply and intermediate pressure
Safely disconnecting the air line
Communication with the dive team leader

Registered fire brigade divers and dive team leaders who work with a surface-supplied (OLV) configuration.
Good to know
Duration: 1 practice day · Regional supplement, frequency according to the regional proficiency plan. Practised exclusively under controlled, shallow conditions with a secured back-up.
