Fire-brigade diving

Rescue of a trapped diverOne-day practical training beneath an object

A colleague who becomes trapped beneath an object is one of the most demanding situations a fire-brigade dive team can encounter. In this one-day practical training the scenario is drilled from start to finish: the standby diver descends along the signal line, assesses the situation, secures the breathing gas by switching to bailout and disconnects the umbilical to free the trapped diver and bring them up under control. Hands-on and in a small group, under realistic conditions.

What is practised

The training focuses on the complete emergency procedure for a trapped diver, from initial deployment as standby diver through to the controlled recovery.

Freeing and recovering
