Duikploegleider Brandweer (Fire Brigade Dive Team Leader) training for the safety regions
Description
BC-opleidingen provides the Duikploegleider Brandweer (DPL-BRW) training for the safety regions. As a dive team leader, you lead the dive team and are responsible for specialist support during water incidents and for practising for these situations. You coordinate the work with the officer in charge of the fire engine and other fire brigade units, oversee safety and promote the safety awareness of your dive team.
Theory and practice
You train in our virtual-reality dome with XVR training simulations to act as a dive team leader in an emergency situation (priority 1). You learn to oversee safety and to draw up a deployment proposal under time pressure. In addition, you are prepared for situations without urgent necessity, such as a dive exercise or a recovery operation. During the theory and practice, you learn among other things to:
• Identify risks
• Understand the importance of a work plan and set up a work plan
• Draw up and deliver a briefing and debriefing
• Set up the MEDEVAC
Portfolio
Throughout the training you are observed and you receive feedback on attitude and behaviour, based on the competencies from the Duikploegleider qualification dossier of the RI-NIPV.
Structure
• Online self-study: approx. 20 hours
• Practical training: 3 blocks of 3 days, including exams
