From government agencies to the civilian market
BC-opleidingen is a professional training centre for commercial diving. What began with courses in 2007 grew into full qualification programmes in 2014 — and since 2019 we have been doing that from our new site on the Markermeer in Enkhuizen. We train divers across the full breadth of the profession: from government agencies to the civilian diving industry. Those two worlds meet here every day — and that is exactly our strength.
The police and Dutch Customs train all of their divers with us. A large part of the fire service comes to us for both its diving qualifications and its ongoing training, and the Ministry of Defence regularly finds its way to us as well. Alongside that, we provide a large share of the training for the civilian market: from aspiring commercial divers to experienced diving supervisors.
A team from the field
Our team comes from the very fields it trains for. Our instructors earned their stripes with the Ministry of Defence — including the Royal Netherlands Navy and NLMARSOF — with the police (DSI), with the fire service, and in the civilian diving industry as divers and diving supervisors.
That mix of backgrounds makes our offering complete: operational experience from the government world, combined with the day-to-day practice of the civilian diving industry. Train with us, and you learn from people who have done the work themselves. From government agencies to the civilian market: we have the knowledge in house.
Our offering
Alongside all our diving courses, we offer every qualification the diving industry needs: DMB-B1 and DMB-B2, DMT (Diver Medic Technician), diving supervisor, underwater welding and decompression chamber operator. Diving teams can get every qualification under one roof.
For government organisations we also provide specialist training. And if something does not exist yet? Our training development department designs bespoke courses and training programmes, tailored to your organisation and deployment.
Our approach
Our own digital learning platform enables efficient theory study and is available in every language. Lessons are accessible 24/7, with direct mentor contact and interaction with fellow students.
An integrated MemoTrainer app supports knowledge retention for practical sessions at the centre.
Good to know: if you want to sit your exam in the Netherlands, the law only allows this in Dutch or English.
A one-stop shop for the diving industry
BC-opleidingen is a one-stop shop: everything related to the diving industry is available here under one roof. We have our own workshop for suit repairs and a work vessel that takes us to deeper dive sites, with dive pits 30 and 55 metres deep.
Our facilities are also open to organisations that want to use them for their own purposes: testing or demonstrating products to customers, or training in a controlled, conditioned environment.
And we keep building: we are currently developing a boat handling course and a Dive Tec course, so that we can soon offer those fully in house as well.
Internationally recognised
Founded in 2007, BC-opleidingen bridges the needs of the Dutch diving industry with professional education. The organisation is a member of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) and provides recognised Diver Medic Technician certification.
Partnerships include underwater welding qualifications through collaboration with Hyperbaric Welding Center.
