Vehicle in the waterRealistic practice in every position
A vehicle that ends up in the water rarely comes to rest neatly on its wheels. At BC-opleidingen a fire-service team dives on a real vehicle that is lowered into the water by crane in any desired position: on its nose, on its side or on its roof.
Realistic and fully conditioned
A vehicle that ends up in the water rarely comes to rest neatly on its wheels. At BC-opleidingen a fire-service team dives on a real vehicle that is lowered into the water by crane in any desired position: on its nose, on its side or on its roof. The depth is infinitely adjustable from the surface down to 15 metres.
In this way the search, reconnaissance and recovery procedure (OD21 · IKB 207) is practised under constantly changing, true-to-life conditions — fully conditioned.

A real vehicle is lowered into the water by crane in the desired position — in the conditioned indoor pool or outdoors on location.

Three entry positions
For each training scenario the vehicle is lowered into the water in the desired position. Every position places different demands on the team and forces a different approach and search strategy.
On the nose
Front end down, rear end high; climbing along a steeply pitched body.
On the side
Stable side position; approaching doors and windows on an unnatural plane.
On the roof
Upside down; searching while disoriented and freeing a casualty in an inverted position.
