Dive Medical Attendant B2 (DMB-B2)
Medical support during diving work with decompression diving (categories A, B and C), including physical and neurological examinations
Description
The duikmedisch begeleider (dive medical attendant, DMB) is part of the dive team to recognise a diving accident in an emergency and provide first aid. The DMB-B2 supports the dive team during diving work in categories A, B and C — all scopes where decompression diving is involved — and can additionally carry out physical and neurological examinations.
After the DMB-B2 training:
• You apply first aid procedures and resuscitation
• You have knowledge of the medical risks of diving and can take preventive measures
• You have knowledge of physics and extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• You recognise the symptoms of diving diseases and can carry out physical and neurological examinations
• You apply the first aid treatment of dive medical conditions
Structure
• DMB-B2: approx. 50 hours of online self-study + 4 practical days + 1 exam day

Registration
The exam is administered by an independent examination institute. After successfully passing the exam, you are registered in the Register Civiele Duikarbeid (Register of Civil Diving Work) by the Registration Institute (NDC-RI).
Certification
