Taught in English and Dutch
Course materials and guidance are available in English for international participants. You do not need to speak Dutch to train here.
An IMCA-recognised scheme
The Dutch commercial-diving registration scheme (NDC-RI, independently examined by Hobéon-SKO) appears on IMCA’s list of recognised national certification schemes.
Training levels: from A9 to B50 SSE
Dutch commercial diving is built up in scope levels, one on top of the other. You choose the level that matches your career goal and can progress further later on.
A9, A15, A30 (Scuba)
The diver carries their own breathing air. A9 (down to 9 m) is often enough for lighter tasks, A15 (15 m) extends this to inspection and maintenance work, and A30 (30 m) is the most versatile Scuba category for civil diving.
B30, B50R, B50 (SSE, surface-supplied)
The diver is supplied with air from the surface via an umbilical, which makes heavier work with powered underwater tools possible. B50 (down to 50 m) is the most demanding civil category we train.
IMCA recognises the scheme, not the school
An important nuance: IMCA recognises the Dutch commercial-diving registration scheme — not one particular training centre or a diploma as its own “IMCA certificate”. What counts for an international employer is your valid registration within that scheme through NDC-RI.
Recognition in Germany
Whether and how a Dutch commercial-diving qualification is recognised for a specific role in Germany depends on German regulations and the assessment of the relevant authority (for example the responsible Berufsgenossenschaft or the employer). Check with the authority responsible for your specific plans before you train, to confirm exactly what is required. We are happy to help with enrolment confirmations and certificates — we cannot make a statement about German recognition ourselves.
