Professional diver training — scope A9: Scuba to 9 metres

Description

In the Professional Diver A9 training you are trained and registered for diving operations with Scuba to 9 metres. Category A9 is often sufficient for, for example, maintaining an aquarium or working in indoor swimming pools. Qualification • A9: Scuba to 9 metres (SCUBA = Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, SSE = Surface Supplied Equipment.) The training The training consists of a combination of online self-study via our digital learning environment and a practical training course at the diving centre in Enkhuizen. In the practical training you first learn to dive safely and responsibly: how to rescue yourself and your colleague in water without visibility and what the procedures are in emergency situations. After that you move on to the actual underwater work. During the training you develop knowledge and skills in, among other things: • Legislation regarding diving operations (Duikarbeid) • Diving systems and equipment • Communication during diving operations • Maritime topics such as tides, currents, wind strength and compass • Diving in contaminated water • Diving operations beneath vessels • Working with loads: ropework, hitches and knots, lifting and securing equipment • Decompression tables • Basic physics, physiology and knowledge of diving illnesses • Inspections, search and work methods and producing a report • Working with tools such as underwater welding, airlift, high-pressure water jet and hydraulic equipment Costs The training for scope A9 consists of approx. 40 hours of online self-study and approx. 2 weeks of practical training — €7,100 excl. VAT. The amount stated is exclusive of examination costs. Registration The examination (proof of competence) is conducted by an independent examination institution (including Hobéon-SKO). After successfully passing the examination, you are registered by the Registration Institute NDC-RI in the Register for Civil Diving Operations (Register Civiele Duikarbeid). The examination costs are determined by the examination institution and charged separately.

Entry requirements

• Minimum age 18 years • A mature work attitude • A valid diving medical examination, carried out by a certified physician B (arts B) and valid throughout the entire training • Diving kit (drysuit, undergarments and liner) — bring your own or hire/buy it from us; owning your own is not required

Certification

The examination is conducted by an independent examination institution (including Hobéon-SKO). After successfully passing the examination, you are registered by the Registration Institute NDC-RI in the Register for Civil Diving Operations (Register Civiele Duikarbeid) (A9). The examination costs are determined by the examination institution and charged separately.
