Direct preparation for your re-registration. In our 9-metre dive tower you train trim, malfunctions and emergency procedures in reduced visibility — controlled and repeatable.
What will you learn?
- Perform basic trim at 3 – 6 – 8 – 6 – 3 metres
- Handle a 2nd-stage malfunction
- Handle a 1st-stage malfunction
- Carry out an emergency procedure in reduced visibility and bring a diver up
- Carry out an emergency procedure in reduced visibility and bring a diver up using an alternative air supply (emergency set)
- Free a trapped diver in reduced visibility
Can be extended with (optional)
- Act from an inverted position (IKB 121, OD6)
- Act in the event of a major drysuit leak (IKB 122, OD5)
- Ascend on suit volume from 9 metres (IKB 116)
- Respond to breathing gas stagnation (IKB 140)
About the training
In the dive tower, the core skills for re-registration are practised under controlled conditions: basic trim at depth, 1st- and 2nd-stage malfunctions, and carrying out emergency procedures in reduced visibility and freeing a trapped diver.
- Duration
- 1 practice day (guideline: 2 half-day sessions). The final number of dives and the time schedule follow from the work plan and the dive planning.
- Target group
- Registered fire brigade divers who want to sharpen their core skills before re-registration. This exercise does not apply to the dive team leader.

What does the law require?
Fire brigade divers and dive team leaders have been registered with the NIPV since 1 October 2024. To keep your registration, you show every two years, with your logbook, that you have practised enough. The industry guideline on ongoing professional competence (2026) determines which exercises these are. At BC-opleidingen every course follows that guideline, and you receive the right code for your logbook.
