Under a boat or object you cannot simply go up. You practise the safe-to-dive protocol and adapted search methods for situations without a free ascent.
What will you learn?

About the training
This training practises diving in situations where a free ascent is not possible, for example under a vessel or object. The emphasis is on the safe-to-dive protocol, a specific work plan/TRA and adapted search methods.
- Duration
- 1 practice day (guideline: 2 half-day sessions). The final number of dives and the time schedule follow from the work plan and the dive planning.
- Target group
- Registered fire brigade divers and dive team leaders who need to keep this exercise up to standard within their two-year registration period. Suitable for SCUBA and OLV configurations; regions that dive with OLV as standard mainly practise with OLV.

What does the law require?
Fire brigade divers and dive team leaders have been registered with the NIPV since 1 October 2024. To keep your registration, you show every two years, with your logbook, that you have practised enough. The industry guideline on ongoing professional competence (2026) determines which exercises these are. At BC-opleidingen every course follows that guideline, and you receive the right code for your logbook.
