As a dive team leader you make major decisions in a short time. In this virtual training you practise situation assessment and decision-making using realistic scenarios.
What will you learn?
- Consult the access map
- Draw up a work plan/task risk analysis (TRA)
- Brief the dive team
- Demonstrate safety awareness in decision-making
- Safeguard the line of responsibility
- Switch when the objective of the operation changes (rescue to recovery)
- Direct an emergency procedure
Can be extended with (optional)
- Work with practical cases from your own region
- Include situation assessment with an underwater drone (ROV) and sonar images in decision-making
- Handover to and coordination with the duty officer
About the training
Virtual training and case studies for the dive team leader. Using realistic scenarios, the dive team leader practises situation assessment and decision-making during a dive operation: from consulting the access map to switching between rescue and recovery and directing an emergency procedure.
- Duration
- 1 half-day session (approx. 4 hours), including evaluation and logbook registration.
- Target group
- Registered dive team leaders. This training does not apply to the fire brigade diver.

What does the law require?
Fire brigade divers and dive team leaders have been registered with the NIPV since 1 October 2024. To keep your registration, you show every two years, with your logbook, that you have practised enough. The industry guideline on ongoing professional competence (2026) determines which exercises these are. At BC-opleidingen every course follows that guideline, and you receive the right code for your logbook.
