For divers & employers from the Gulf

Oil & gas and marine work in the Gulf runs on internationally recognised qualifications. Divers and diving contractors from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain train in the Netherlands for exactly that reason: a national scheme oriented to international frameworks, DNV-examined underwater welding, and the IMCA-approved Diver Medic Technician course — one hour from Amsterdam Schiphol.

Why train in the Netherlands

A scheme built for international work

Dutch qualifications are issued through an independent national register (NDC-RI) — the structure international frameworks such as IMCA’s certification guidance look for. Read the full picture on our recognition page.

Underwater welding under the DNV flag

Welder qualification to EN ISO 15618-1 with preparation for AWS D3.6M, examined under DNV personnel certification (ISO/IEC 17024) at our Hyperbaric Welding Center — with a 21-metre basin whose floor sets to the centimetre.

Diver Medic Technician

The only IMCA-approved Diver Medic Technician provider in the Netherlands and the Benelux — initial courses and two-yearly refreshers, taught in English.

One campus, every discipline

Commercial diving scopes, dive team leader, medic, welding, recertification and equipment testing on one waterfront campus — crews combine courses in a single trip.

Travel, visa and planning

Getting here

Direct flights connect the Gulf with Amsterdam Schiphol; the campus in Enkhuizen is about an hour from the airport. Accommodation is available in every price range nearby.

Visa

Citizens of the UAE and Qatar can visit the Schengen area visa-free for short stays. Other nationalities — including many expat professionals working in the Gulf — need a short-stay Schengen visa (type C): start several weeks ahead. We provide a confirmation of enrolment for your application.

Planning around your calendar

We schedule around project rotations, and we take Ramadan and summer preferences into account for group bookings — tell us what works for your crew.

Employer-paid training

Most Gulf-based participants train on company account. We invoice companies directly (PO number possible), provide the paperwork your HR department needs, and support group logistics.

Diving contractors & EPCs: qualify your crew

Project specifications in the region assume formally qualified people: welder qualifications (LK) and welding-method qualifications (LMK) under an accredited scheme, diver-medic capability in the team, and paperwork that stands up to client and class-society scrutiny. We train and qualify complete crews for that foundation — in English, planned around your rotations.
